{"id":4021,"date":"2016-09-30T11:00:45","date_gmt":"2016-09-30T09:00:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.worldofart.org\/current\/?p=4021"},"modified":"2018-09-25T14:01:15","modified_gmt":"2018-09-25T12:01:15","slug":"antonija-letinic-what-do-we-talk-about-when-we-talk-about-criticism","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.worldofart.org\/arhiv.worldofart.org\/current\/archives\/4021","title":{"rendered":"Antonija Letini\u0107: What Do We Talk About When We Talk About Criticism?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Together with <b><a href=\"http:\/\/www.igorzabel.org\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Igor Zabel Association for Culture and Theory<\/a><\/b> we cordially invite you to attend the public lecture by<\/p>\n<p><strong>Antonija Letini\u0107: What Do We Talk About When We Talk About Criticism?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Thursday, 13 October 2016, 6 pm<\/strong><br \/>\nProject Room, SCCA\u2013Ljubljana, Metelkova 6, Ljubljana<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/AIQ7V2RB9KY?rel=0\" width=\"620\" height=\"349\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>This autumn we will continue with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldofart.org\/arhiv.worldofart.org\/current\/16th-season-2016-2018\/series-of-public-lectures-how-critical-is-the-condition-of-critical-writing\"><strong><em>How Critical Is the Condition of Critical Writing?<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, a reflection on the current role and status of criticism in visual arts and culture conceived last year, with a new series of lectures.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the lecture<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8220;In this lecture I will reflect upon changes in art criticism in the context of media transformation, including technological changes, as well as through interrelation with changes in art production. Traditional media have been changing the way they produce media content: we have seen PR replacing journalistic work, the dissolution of the news room, the disappearance of various journalistic forms (reportage, research journalism, criticism), and on the other hand the blurring of the borders between forms (criticism \u2013 report \u2013 review). These changes include the technology through which the content is presented and distributed as well as transformation of news production into a commodity. In the lecture I will also deal with the relation between critical art and art criticism in this aspect of the interdisciplinarity of art and where these forms clash and interfere.&#8221;<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-3376\" title=\"Kaja Kraner\" src=\"https:\/\/www.worldofart.org\/arhiv.worldofart.org\/aktualno\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Antonija-Letinic.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100\" height=\"100\" \/><strong>Antonija Letini\u0107<\/strong> is Editor-in-chief of the Internet publication Kulturpunkt.hr (based in Zagreb) and is in charge of other projects run by the organisation Kurziv \u2013 Platform for Matters of Culture, Media and Society \u2013 such as the educational programme Kulturpunkt\u2019s Journalistic School \u2018World of Art\u2019 and programme Criticism \u2013 Past, Present, Future.
