World of Art | School for Curatorial Practices and Critical Writing | Year 17<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, 20 November 2018, World of Art School is organizing a study excursion to Graz in frame of school\u2019s curatorial mapping. We will visit some of the referential contemporary art institutions, get acquainted with their work and mission, and visit current exhibitions.<\/p>\n

Graz is one of the closest art centres with many referential art institutions. In 2003, city became the European Capital of Culture, which was marked by an ambitious programme. Graz also organizes the international contemporary art festival Steirischer Herbst<\/em><\/a>. The<\/em> new artistic director of the festival, founded in 1968, is Ekaterina Degot. With thirteen departments on twelve locations, the Universalmuseum Joanneum in Graz is the largest institution of this kind in Central Europe and the largest and most important cultural and scientific institution in Styria.<\/p>\n
